14s tournament provides another local opportunity to play

Four Regions have announced a partnership to run a new three-day tournament over Presidents’ Day Weekend.  Beginning in 2022, the U14 Region Rumble will provide another local opportunity for teams to play in a high-quality three-day tournament produced by the regions.

The inaugural event will be held February 19-21 in Salem at the Capital Fieldhouse.  The tournament will feature the 14s age group, split into both an Open and Club division..  Future years will see the tournament move to locations throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Beyond producing a high-level tournament, the four regions (Evergreen, Intermountain, Puget Sound, CEVA) aim to diversify competition for teams, bringing together several clubs from throughout the area to play against each other.

Registration for this event will be available on AES beginning at 9:00 AM on November 8th, 2021.  The entry fees are tentatively set at $550.00.  Payment will be required for acceptance into the tournament.

Each division (Open & Club) will tentatively be slated to accept 24 teams.  Teams will be guaranteed eight matches.  Referees will be provided on all matches.

Planning for this event has been two years in the making, with the original goal being to roll the tournament out in 2021.  The COVID-19 pandemic made the introduction impossible.  With a return to play in the making for the 2022 season, the regions are ready to offer as much programming as possible for our teams.  We look forward to welcoming teams to Salem!

We are adding a friendly Region competition by creating a rotating perpetual trophy for Region bragging rights to whichever Region’s team wins the Open Division!

So, let’s put our best Evergreen foot forward and bring home the FIRST EVER Region Rumble trophy in 2022!!
